Isolation is a 10 letter bad word!

Last week I was in medical isolation. WOW I think it was the hardest thing I have ever done. Not being able to touch anyone else was a lot harder than I thought. Using gloves to just get a drink from the frig. The being waited on hand and foot at "feeding time" that was fun. But that was the only part that was. Even batheing was a pain. New soap, towels and stuff treating like they were toxic. Wait, they were! It was just very difficult.

I slept all day for 2.5 days because I could not do much else. I had big plans to clean out drawers and scrap and stuff, but the doc. said I should not handle anymore than I have too.

Keeping the kitties at bay was impossible, I would shew them away and 2 mins later they are back. They know when things are not right and they do thier best to comfortment at those times so they could not understand why they could not hold me. I just made a point to not hug them and let them hang at my lap and feet. There comes a point where one just gives up on the shewing.

The days were long but I made it through and it made me appriate human contact and realize how important it is to me. Funny how 8 years ago I could gone for weeks like that not have been effected but now that I have Bill I can't stand a single day.

Tomorrow I start my meds. so hopefully we are mere weeks away from the new Robin.
